This simple holiday cocktail will warm guests up on a chilly winter night. For a little extra heat, add a few slices fresh ginger (unpeeled is fine) before simmering. Just remove the ginger slices before serving.
Ingredients
- 3 c. apple cider
- 1 c. water
- 1 lemon
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. whiskey
- cinnamon sticks
Instructions
- Put the cider, water, lemon, and sugar in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring, about 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.
- Stir in the whiskey.
- Divide the liquid among glasses. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired.
