This quick bread makes a delicious breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons butter, (1 stick) softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon all spice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °. Cream butter and brown sugar. Add the remaining ingredients except raisins and nuts. Mix well until blended. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 8 x 4 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes. Makes 1 loaf.
