This recipe is a fun and creative way to use up leftover wine. These bite-sized sandwiches also make a great party snack to complement your favorite bottle.

Ingredients

  • 6 hot dog buns
  • 1 lb. skinless salmon
  • 2 green onions
  • 3/4 c. wine
  • 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/3 c. mayonnaise
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Pepper

Instructions

  1. In food processor, pulse 2 toasted hot dog buns into crumbs; transfer to bowl. Pulse salmon until chopped.
  2. Mix with crumbs, green onions, 1/4 cup wine, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Form into 12 patties.
  3. Bake on foil-lined pan in 425 degree F oven 10 minutes or until cooked through. In saucepan, boil 1/2 cup wine on high until reduced by half, stirring; chill slightly.
  4. Toast 4 more buns, cut into thirds. Whisk wine into 1/3 cup mayonnaise; serve with patties on buns.
