Ingredients
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 c. almond butter
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. pure almond extract
- 1/2 c. sliced almonds
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1/4 c. heavy cream
Instructions
- Make the dough: Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside. Using a mixer set on medium speed, cream 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually adding the brown sugar, continue beating butter until sugar is incorporated. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add the almond butter, vanilla, and almond extract and mix thoroughly. Reduce mixer speed to low, add the flour mixture, and mix until combined. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
