Ingredients

1 cup ketchup, preferably Heinz 1 cup apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 tablespoons salt 1 tablespoon ground black pepper 3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Pinch ground red pepper

Instructions

Combine the ketchup, vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, ground red pepper and 1 quart of water in a large pot and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
