Ingredients
- 1 cup ketchup, preferably Heinz
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Pinch ground red pepper
Instructions
- Combine the ketchup, vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, ground red pepper and 1 quart of water in a large pot and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Serve hot with cooked meat.
