Recipe by Karla Sonnenberg We first had this at a special Easter dinner served for our family at the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. It was a side dish served with ham, but could also be served as a dessert. I wish I could give credit to the sweet

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 slices day-old bread, cut into cubes
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Beat sugar and butter together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Stir bread and pineapple into creamed butter mixture; pour into a 1-quart baking dish.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned and eggs are set, 45 to 50 minutes.
