Snack: Betty's Thin Crust Italian Sausage Pizza

Betty demonstrates how to make a Thin Crust Italian Sausage Pizza. This is an easy-to-make pizza with homemade crust and sauce. You may change the toppings to anything you like on pizza! It is a great snack or meal to serve while watching a sports event. Thin Crust Italian Sausage Pizza 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup milk ¼ cup vegetable oil olive oil, as needed ¾ cup (or less, to taste) Versatile Pizza Sauce (recipe in Betty's Kitchen) (You may use bottled pizza sauce or other homemade pizza sauce.) ½ pound Italian sausage, browned, crumbled, and drained 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese Measure flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and vegetable oil into a large bowl. Stir vigorously until mixture leaves sides of bowl. Gather dough together and press into ball. Knead dough about 10 times until smooth. Divide dough into 2 equal parts. On a lightly floured surface roll one ball into a 13-inch circle. Place on a 12-inch pizza pan that has be oiled with olive oil. Even out the crust, turning under ½ inch around the outside. Pinch or pleat the top edge, as desired. Pierce the crust with a fork at about 1-inch intervals. Spread olive oil evenly over the entire crust, including edge. Pre-bake in 425-degree (F) oven until slightly golden, about 5 to 8 minutes. Spread up to ¾ cup of pizza sauce evenly over pre-baked crust. Sprinkle cooked Italian sausage evenly over sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over Italian sausage. Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese evenly over mozzarella cheese. Bake at 425 degrees (F) until cheese melts, about 10 to 15 minutes. For browner top, turn oven to BROIL for a minute or two, watching carefully. Remove Italian Sausage Pizza from oven and use a pizza cutter to cut into 6 or 8 delicious slices immediately. Serve while hot! This is a great snack to serve during a sports event. Enjoy!
