Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup Sifted All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, At Room Temperature
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Large Egg White
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 3 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/3 cup Assorted Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 ºF. Butter and flour and 8x8-inch cake pan and set it aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. In the bowl of your electric mixer, beat butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 3 –4 minutes. Add egg and egg white, beating on medium speed until combined. Beat in oil and vanilla extract until combined, another 1 –2 minutes. With the mixer on low speed, add half of the dry ingredients. Pour in the milk with the mixer on. Pour in the rest of the dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until batter is combined. Fold in sprinkles with a large spatula.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Place pan on a baking sheet and bake for 38 –40 minutes, or until golden on top and set in the center. Let cool complete before frosting.
