  • 1 gal. Concord grape juice
  • 8 cardamom pods
  • 4 stick cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. fresh grated nutmeg
  • 1 1/3 c. Danny Meyer's Simple Syrup
  • 7 c. vodka
  • ice cubes
  • Concord grapes

Instructions

  1. Combine grape juice and spices in a large pot. Bring just to a simmer, then remove from heat and let stand, covered, 20 minutes. Strain through a fine sieve (discard solids), and chill. To serve, combine with simple syrup and vodka, if using. Serve over ice in a tall glass, and garnish with grapes. Looking for cocktail recipes? PCOS-Friendly Foods in This Recipe

This recipe contains the following foods that may benefit PCOS management: Cinnamon.

Cinnamon is one of the best ingredients that someone with insulin sensitivity can eat. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to be very effective at normalizing blood sugar levels. Cinnamon contains hydroxychalcone, which is thought to enhance the effects of insulin. It has also been suggested that Cinnamon prevents post-meal blood sugar spikes by slowing the gastric emptying rate - meaning that food digests slowly.
