Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons grated orange peel
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup rye flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 °. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in orange peel and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk remaining ingredients; gradually beat into creamed mixture.
Shape level tablespoons of dough into balls; place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are light brown. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in airtight containers.
