Oats and Coconut Payasam is an exceptional combination of ingredients made with oats and freshly grated coconut which is sweetened, flavored with cardamom powder and garnished with nuts. This payasam is rich, creamy and extremely delicious to taste. It has a silky texture and alluring to see.

Ingredients:
Oats 2-3 Tablespoons
Coconut, freshly grated 1/2 Cup
Sugar 1/2 Cup
Ghee 1-2 Tablespoons
Cashew nuts, pieces 1 Tablespoons
Raisins 1 Tablespoons
Milk 2 Cup
Water 1/2 Cup
Cardamom powder 1/4 Teaspoons
Directions:
In a thick bottom vessel, add some ghee and when it gets hot, add cashew nuts and raisins. Fry them until the raisins get puffed up and cashew nuts become slightly golden in color. Add oats, freshly grated coconut and mix well. Add milk, water and cook until the oats are done. Add sugar, mix and if required add little water to get the desired consistency. Add cardamom powder, mix and cook for about 3-4 minutes. Switch off the flame, dish out the payasam and garnish over with nuts.
