Recipe by Cheryl Slocum Mezcal gets its signature smoky flavor from the slow-roasted and distilled hearts of agave plants.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon light agave nectar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ounces mezcal
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)
  • 2 lime slices

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except lime slices in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds; strain into 2 ice-filled glasses. Garnish each drink with a lime slice.
