Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 jumbo egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Whisk both amounts of flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Beat butter, brown sugar, and pudding mix in another bowl with an electric mixer until blended; beat in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until combined. Stir flour mixture into egg mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Roll the dough into 2-inch balls and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  4. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
