A syrup for the filling of our Cherry-Walnut Turnovers. Spiced Cherry Syrup can also be used to make a refreshing Cherry Cola Cocktail.
Ingredients
- 3 c. cherries
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 4 stick cinnamon
- cut into 1-inch pieces, white pith removed
Instructions
- Remove cinnamon sticks and lemon zest and run mixture through a food mill into a medium bowl. Strain through a fine sieve. Store syrup refrigerated for up to 3 days.
