Recipe by Johnsonville "Need a quick and hearty lunch? Precooked Italian sausage slices with sauteed bell peppers and diced tomatoes make a zesty meal--served as is or piled on a hoagie roll."

Ingredients

  • 1 (22 ounce) package frozen Johnsonville® Mild Italian Sausage Slices
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Hoagie or sub rolls (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, saute the sausage, peppers, onion and garlic in oil until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add tomatoes and pepper flakes. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until heated through.
  3. Serve on rolls if desired.
