Jazz up ready-made tortellini with a cream- and fresh basil-enhanced marinara sauce.
Ingredients
- water
- 1 package frozen cheese tortellini
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1/3 c. heavy or whipping cream
- 1/4 c. Fresh basil
Instructions
- In large pot of boiling salted water, cook 1 package frozen cheese tortellini according to package directions until al dente. Drain and transfer to large bowl.
- Meanwhile in 10-inch skillet, bring 1 jar marinara sauce to simmer over low heat. Stir in 1/3 cup heavy or whipping cream and 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil, bring to a simmer and simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors. Pour sauce over tortellini and toss to combine.
