Tadka dal is a specialty of Northern India, a simple everyday dal dish, served with steamed white rice or rotis (indian flat breads). The Dal tadka is a regular feature for most of us while eating out at a Punjabi restaurant. However few of us realize that this dish can be prepared with ease in your very own kitchen at nearly one-fifth the price. Made with split red lentils this creamy, rich and smooth dal is tempered with spices and ghee. It makes the perfect accompaniment to rice or Rotis. http://www.vahrehvah.com/tadka-dal Ingredients 1 tsp cumin seeds 6-9 number curry leaves 1 cup dal 1 tbsp Ghee 6 number green chillis pinch pinch hing 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 number onion 3n number red chilli dry as per taste 0 salt Directions • pinch pinch turmuric powder • Boil Dal and mix salt as per your taste and keep a side • Take a pan add ghee, musrtad, cumin, red chilli dry, curry leaves, garlic and mix well then add chopped onions, hing, turmuric, green chillis mix well now add the boiled dal and if required add water and bring to boil. • Can make thin consistency by adding more water and bring to boil.
