kichidi made of over cooking of rice and dal man nading in to paste by adding some flavours so here we making kichidi making masoor dal called red lentil which is famous in hyderabad it tastes excellent with any kind of khatta. http://www.vahrehvah.com/hyderabadi-khichadi Ingredients: Rice 1cups Masoor daal ½ cup Water 3 cup Bay leaves 2 n Cinnamon stick (small) 2 n Cloves 3 n Pepper corns 5 n Cardamom 3 n Green chilly 3 n Onion slice 1 n Salt Turmeric ¼ ts Ginger garlic paste 1 ts Mint Chopped ½ b Coriander chopped ½ b Ghee 2 tb Oil 1 tb Directions: Soak the rice and masoor dal, in separate bowls for 30 minutes. Heat oil in a pan add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, pepper, roast it and add green chilly, slice onions, salt, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, cook this till raw flavor is gone, curd (optional), add rice, masoor dal, water, chopped mint & coriander leaves, put the lid on and cook it till rice is done at last add ghee on top of the rice and put the lid on for few minutes.
