Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 basil sprig, plus 1 for garnish
  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 3/4 ounce grapefruit juice
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce honey syrup
  • 2 grinds of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Shake 2 tablespoons honey and 1 tablespoons warm water in a small jar until honey is dissolved.
  2. Combine 1 basil sprig, 1 ounce bourbon, 1 ounce Campari, 3/4 ounce grapefruit juice, 3/4 ounce lemon juice, 1/2 ounce honey syrup, and 2 grinds of black pepper in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is frosty.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a fresh basil sprig.
