Recipe by Adapted from Fuchsia Dunlop Garlic chives smell more pungent than they taste and are wonderful when cooked. (Keep them wrapped well in your refrigerator.)

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 to 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup boiling-hot water

Instructions

  1. Put 1 3/4 cups flour in a large bowl, then add boiling-hot water, stirring with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms. When just cool enough to handle, turn out dough (including any loose flour) onto a work surface and knead, incorporating some of remaining 1/4 cup flour if dough is sticky, until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  2. Form into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Let stand at room temperature at least 10 minutes and up to 30.
