Betty demonstrates how to make Thin and Crispy Pizza Dough Breadsticks. These breadsticks are delicious with Betty's Versatile Pizza Sauce, which was recently uploaded in Betty's Kitchen.
Thin and Crispy Pizza Dough Breadsticks
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
¼ cup vegetable oil
olive oil, as needed
Versatile Pizza Sauce (recipe in Betty's Kitchen) for dipping
Measure flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and vegetable oil into a large bowl. Stir vigorously until mixture leaves sides of bowl. Gather dough together and press into ball. Knead dough about 10 times until smooth. Divide dough into 2 equal parts. On a lightly floured surface roll one ball into a rectangle about 1/8-inch thick. Cut rectangular strips of dough that are approximately 4 inches by 1 inch. Place all strips on a 10-inch by 15-inch by 1-inch baking pan, lined with parchment paper and brushed with olive oil. Brush tops of strips with olive oil, also. Use a fork to pierce each of the strips about an inch apart. Bake at 425 degrees (F) until breadsticks are beginning to brown, about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately transfer breadsticks to a cooling rack. Cool as much as desired. Place breadsticks on an appetizer tray, with Betty's Versatile Pizza Sauce (recipe in Betty's Kitchen) in the center for dipping. This is a great recipe for munching on during a sports event. Enjoy!
