Try this citrusy, spiked punch for a refreshing summer cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 (4") piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • 1 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6 lemons)
  • 1 c. freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 7 limes)
  • 1 c. black cherry vodka
  • 1 L cold club soda or seltzer
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, ginger, and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Boil over medium- high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves, 2 to 4 minutes. Cool completely; strain.
  2. Stir together ginger syrup, lemon juice, lime juice, and vodka in a large pitcher. Stir in soda just before serving.
  3. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon wedges and mint sprigs.
