No-bake cookies make even the most oven-shy baker look like a hero. You’ll see them at bake sales, fundraisers, and in millions of homes across the country as an after-school snack. We've cut out a lot of the unnecessary butter and added chocolate chips,

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 cup 2% reduced-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked quick cooking oats

Instructions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients (through milk) in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently. Cook until sugar dissolves, stirring gently (about 2 minutes). Remove from heat; add chocolate chips. Let stand 1 minute; stir with a whisk until chips are melted. Add peanut butter and vanilla; stir well with a whisk. Stir in oats. Cool slightly.
  2. Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls onto wax paper; cool 15 minutes or until firm.
