Recipe by Candace Braun Davison This makes for a super-decadent hot cocoa that's closer to European drinking chocolate than your standard powder packet.

Ingredients

  • 3 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 8-10 drops red food coloring (or as much as you'd like)
  • whipped cream
  • crumbled red velvet cake

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan over medium heat. Add chocolate chips and stir frequently, until the chips have completely melted.
  2. Add red food coloring, a few drops at a time, and stir until you've reached your desired shade of red.
  3. Pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and crumbled red velvet cake.
