Thotakura which is referred as Amaranth (in english) is a delicious leafy vegetable related to spinach family and is used a lot.Thotakura which is referred as Amaranth (in english) is a delicious leafy vegetable related to spinach familyThotakura Pappuis a delectable blend of green leaves and lentils cooked with spices. Here for green leafy vegetable amaranth leaves have been used. This recipe is in the name of Thotakura pappu, a Andhra cuisine. Cooked amaranth leaves are a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, and folate; they are also a complementing source of other vitamins.
Ingredient
1/2 cup chana dal
1/2 tsp Cumin Seed
10 number Curry leafs
8 number garlic
1/2 tsp Ginger Garic Paste
6 number Green Chilles
1/2 cup masoor dal
1/2 cup Moong Dal
1/2 tsp murstad seeds
1 tbsp oil
1 number onion
As needed 0 salt
6 bunch Thotakura
pich 0 Turermic powder
1/2 cup Urad Dal
Directions
• Take a pan add oil, cumin seeds,murstad, chana dal,urad,moong,masoor dal roast them on slow flame, then add garlic chopped,onion, green chilli, curry leaves,ginger garlic paste,turmuric, salt mix well.
• Now add thotakura ,and cook in a very slow flame with out closing the lid if required add water, cook for 20 min or till the thotakura oozes oil.
