Ulli Theeyal is one among the Kerala recipes which is most common in all the households. A little spicy, tangy & rich in taste are its qualities. In Kerala this recipe is known in the name of Theeyal, in Tamil nadu this is known as Kolamba but preparation is almost the same. http://www.vahrehvah.com/shallots-curry-ulli-theeyal-recipe Ingredients: Shallots 500 g Drum sticks 3 n Whole red chilly 6n Coriander seeds 1 tb Pepper corn 1 tb Fenugreek seeds ½ ts Grated coconut 1 c Coconut oil 2 tb Mustard seeds ½ ts Cumin seeds ½ ts Salt Jaggery 2 tb Tamarind juice ½ c Method: 1. Take a pan put it on the flame and add whole red chilly, coriander seeds, pepper corns, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, dry roast the all ingredients. 2. Take a pan, add grated coconut roast them and add dry roasted ingredients and make a paste. 3. Heat coconut oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilly, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, turmeric, and add shallots, drum sticks, tamarind juice, salt put the lid on and let it simmer and cook for 15 minutes. 4. Add jaggery; add paste of roasted ingredients, mix it up let it cook for 5 minutes. 5.
