  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slice thick bread

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Soak bread in egg mixture, turning once, about 20 minutes. Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry 2 slices of bread until golden, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Repeat.
