Recipe by Lauren Miyashiro Carbs, nutella, chocolate chips, can't lose.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pizza dough, divided into 2 pieces
  • 1 c. Nutella
  • 1.2 c. chocolate chips
  • confectioners' sugar
  • flour
  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp. heavy cream (or milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out first pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12x18 inches.
  3. Spread Nutella over surface of pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the Nutella.
  4. Starting with the edge closest to you, tightly roll the dough up and pinch the edge to seal. You'll now have a long roll.
  5. Cut the roll in half crosswise.
  6. Turn both halves so they are perpendicular to the horizontal edge of your working surface. Cut the rolls in half lengthwise.
  7. Make an X with two of the cut pieces of dough (keeping the exposed chocolate facing up). Repeat with the other cut pieces.
  8. Twist the two pieces of dough above and below where the X is formed. Repeat with the other cut pieces.
  9. Repeat the whole process with the other pizza dough, starting with rolling out the pizza dough.
  10. Make egg wash. Lightly beat together egg and cream.
  11. Transfer twists to prepared baking sheet. Brush with egg wash. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  12. Let cool in pan until cool enough to handle. Dust with powdered sugar.
