Yam cooked with tamarind pulusu is a nice tangy dish made with Elephant yam cooked in tangy and spicy tamarind sauce. The tanginess of the tamarind juice blended into the yam gives a amazing taste to the yam. http://www.vahrehvah.com/yam-cooked-with-tamarind-pulusu-puli Ingredients 1 tbsp coconut powder 1 cup coriander leaves 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp Cumin Seed 6 number curry leaves pinch pinch fenu greekseeds 4 number green chillies pinch hing 10 grams jaggery 1/2 tsp Mustard seed 2 tbsp Oil 1 cup onion 4 number red chill dry 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tbsp sesame seed pdr 1 cup Tamarind juice pinch pint Turermic powder As needed to taste water 500 grams yam Directions Peel yam and cut into pieces ( square shape) Take a pan add oil,red chillies, mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds,cumin seeds,green chillies,curry leaves,chopped onions saute them till onions are golden brown colour, then add turermic,hing,ginger garlic paste,saute them and then add the cubes of yam mix it well. Now add water to it,red chilli powder,coriander powder mix well and close it with a lid cook till the yam are soft (15min) , then add salt, tamarind juice, jaggery, sesame seed powder, coconut powder, let it come to boil or thick gravy then switch of the flame. Finely add coriander chopped and serve with rice or roti.
