Betty demonstrates how to make BLT Minute Steak Sliders. These are tasty mini whole-wheat buns filled with Horseradish Sour Cream Dressing, Country Fried Minute Steak, Swiss cheese, crisp bacon, sliced tomato, and lettuce greens. BLT Minute Steak Sliders 12 whole-wheat slider buns 1.5 pounds minute steaks, pounded and cut into 12 equal-sized circles—extra pieces not used in this recipe coarse sea salt, to taste freshly-ground black peppercorns, to taste 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup peanut oil (for a 12.5-inch cast iron skillet) Horseradish Sour Cream Sauce (recipe in Betty's Kitchen) or bottled horseradish sauce 6 slices Swiss cheese, cut into 12 equal-sized circles 12 slices crisp bacon, each broken into 2 halves 12 thin slices yellow tomatoes (You may use red tomatoes.) salad greens (arugula, radicchio, spinach, e.g.) In a 12.5-inch cast iron (or comparable) skillet, place 1 cup peanut oil and heat until about 350 to 375 degrees (F), or until a small amount of dropped into the oil sizzles. Meanwhile, salt and pepper steak circles, to taste. Place 1 cup all-purpose flour in a Ziploc bag. Place seasoned minute steak circles, about 4 at a time in the bag, and shake to coat. Use tongs to move each flour-coated steak circle into hot oil in skillet. Repeat, until all 12 steak circles are in the skillet. Fry each steak circle until brown on the bottom side and cooked halfway through. Then turn each steak circle, repeating with the other side. Remove to a platter lined with paper toweling to drain. Now, assemble sandwiches. On a cutting board, open slider bun. Place about 1 tablespoon Horseradish Sour Cream Sauce on bottom half of bun. Place a fried steak circle on top of the dressing. Next, place circle of Swiss cheese, followed by 2 half-slices crisp bacon, a slice of yellow tomato, and desired salad greens. Put other half of slider bun on top. Assemble remaining sandwiches in the same way, until you have 12 BLT Minute Steak Sliders. Serve immediately. YUM! I hope you enjoy this recipe!
