Where do you carry it?
There is no one way to look at body fat in women. Two women at the same weight can look, feel and test completely differently, and with PCOS, where you carry it often says more than how much. One tap, no sign-up.

You carry it around the middle
Lots of women with PCOS carry it here, and it is the pattern most tied to insulin. Fat around the middle tends to sit deeper, around the organs, and it talks to your blood sugar more than fat anywhere else.
That is why your waist tells you more than the scale. UK health guidance (NICE) gives a simple check: keep your waist to less than half your height. All you need is a piece of string.
What helps most here is steady blood sugar, not eating less: protein at every meal, fibre, and carbs that come with something.

Fat on the hips and thighs sits under the skin. It acts more like a store cupboard than the deeper fat around the middle, and studies link it with less risk to blood sugar than the same amount at the waist.
So the number on the scale may say less about your health than you think. Strength, energy, sleep and a regular cycle are better signs that things are working.

An even spread means the scale is a little less misleading for you than for most. But two women at the same weight can look and feel very different, and the difference is usually muscle.
Watch strength, sleep, energy and your cycle, not only the number.

Lean PCOS is real, and it proves that body fat is not the cause of PCOS. Insulin resistance can still be there at a normal weight, so "just lose weight" was never advice that fit you.
Eating less can make things worse here, not better. If your period has gone missing while you eat less or train more, treat that as a warning sign.
